Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 4 29 18

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. - Proverbs 3:5-8

The week turned nice here in Ohio toward the end, and the warmth was wonderful for being outdoors. Seems maybe Spring has finally arrived. I'm keeping my eye on something that is growing by my garage. If it is what I think, it may be a the bulbs from a lovely plant my daughter gave me last Mother's Day. She gave it in a potted plant as a beautiful flower, and I'm thinking that I did take it outside once the blooms had died and planted in hopes it would return. I'll take a picture and share later if that is what it ends up being.

Hope everyone enjoyed a good week. Now it's time for sharing a scripture blessing. Please try to visit one other that links up. Thanks.

Pictorial Tuesday Link Up 4 24-18

Mine and Razzy favorite ride

I believe Spring is finally arriving after pretty much snow every day in April. We took advantage of the warmth over the week-end and did some yard work. Cutting down brush along the fence row. While cutting, discovered a Robin nest with eggs. I carefully moved it over to a small tree that wasn't getting cut. Thankfully, once we were done, we did see the Robin had found the moved nest and was sitting on it. Phew...so glad I didn't disturb things too much.

Our furbaby was enjoying laying in the sun, and also got to ride in his and my favorite toy. We use it for yard work, etc. We also can use it on the streets so it has license so I can take the grandbaby to the local Ice Cream stand.

It's Pictorial Tuesday time again for sharing your photos. Thank you for linking up. You're next.

Sunday Scripture Blessings Link Up 4 22 18

-the rest of this: Yon ship has just departed, but it is already at its haven. It did but spread its sail and it was there. Like that ship of old, upon the Lake of Galilee, a storm had tossed it, but Jesus said, "Peace, be still," and immediately it came to land. Think not that a long period intervenes between the instant of death and the eternity of glory. When the eyes close on earth they open in heaven. The horses of fire are not an instant on the road. Then, O child of God, what is there for thee to fear in death, seeing that through the death of thy Lord its curse and sting are destroyed? and now it is but a Jacob's ladder whose foot is in the dark graves, but its top reaches to glory everlasting.

I saw this on my daily devotional this week. Had never read it before. Seems it would be perfect for someone who has recently had the loss of a loved one.

Hope you are blessed this Sunday by my sharing as I am always blessed by what others share here. Once you like, please try to visit at least one or two who have linked. Thanks.

Have a wonderful week.

Pictorial Tuesday Link Up 4 17 18 'n Being Crafty

Happy Pictorial Tuesday....Sharing these dish towels and hot pads that I made for my girls. Love going to the fabric store, and saw these fabrics and especially like the strawberry jam one so knew had to purchase. Crafting keeps me busy. These were fun to make and so easy. I like easy. haha
I may have to return and purchase the strawberry one to make me another apron. :) Who doesn't love having a full apron to put on when baking? Usually though, I forget and mine just hangs on the hook. ~smiles~

I've crocheted since a very young girl, but am now learning to knit. I've been practicing the stitches, but have just recently finished a hat from a pattern.

My current project is working on a cable scarf. I'll share it later. It's finally coming along. I've torn out a few times and had to restart, but finally it is looking like cables. I discovered The Casting On Couch whose tutorials on YouTube are excellent for anyone wanting to learn knitting. She also has some free patterns on her site.

Pop over HERE to see some of my craft projects from over the years. Picture pillows make excellent gift ideas.

Now it's time for your sharing of your photography/graphics. Pictorial Tuesday link up is live from Tuesday until Friday each week. Thanks for visiting and sharing. Comments are always adored. :)

Mercy Life In The Season of Dying Book Review

MERCY LIFE IN THE SEASON OF DYING
Author: Peter Roebbelen
Publisher: Paraclete Press

"We are all born powerless and we all die powerless."

The author uses that phrase, but his book recounts the many ways people do have power over how they perceive and face dying. But more so, his book is about how family and loved ones can celebrate the life shared. He shares how there is life in dying. In his book, he shares some intimate stories of his life as a pastor and the times he's been privileged more by the joy shared and strength of those to whom he's ministered. He shares their stories.

In this book, the author broaches a subject from which most shy away. But with his sharing, there are some important points we may not have considered. It may not be a subject most are looking to read about, but the insights shared are worth the read.

The author writes in an easy flowing manner as he shares each story, and makes for wanting to head on to the next chapter.

Basically, this isn't a book that I might have chosen as a read. But once I started the book, I read on with anticipation of the stories he was sharing, and what needed information could be garnered from the stories. Without spoilers, I'll just say give Mercy a try. It may be a surprise subject matter that touches your heart more than you'd expect.

A Note About The Author:
Peter Roebbelen has been in pastoral ministry for over thirty years and has befriended and cared for many in their season of dying. He is the President of the Charis Foundation, a Christian organization desiring to see all people move from suffering to flourishing. Peter is a graduate of Tyndale University College and Seminary and Arrow Leadership. He and his wife, Sharon, live in Oakville, Ontario.

Note:
I received a copy of  MERCY LIFE IN THE SEASON OF DYING from the publisher. No review positive or otherwise was required. All review opinions are my own.

The reviews on my blog are specifically my own interpretation of my like or dislike for a book I read.

Sunday Scripture Blessings 4 15 18

Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.
Hosea 6:3 NIV

Pictorial Tuesday 4 10 18

As I sit here looking at flower pictures on this twenty-first day of Spring, it is snowing outside ~ again. It has snowed almost every day of Spring, and down in the 30's 40's. I saw where we now have a new term called Sprinter (Spring/Winter). Always someone with a gleeful outlook and comes up with a fun term for this dreary Spring. :) The weatherman has promised warm days are on the horizon by next week-end.

Have a great week, and thanks always for linking up and sharing your photography with Pictorial Tuesday.

Sunday Scripture Blessings 4 8 18

In the time of those kings, the GOD of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.  Daniel 2:44 NIV [Luke 1:31-33; Rev. 11:15]

Have a blessed Sunday. I hope all had a nice Easter and week full of blessings.

It's time for Sunday Scripture Blessings. Please share.
